As you’ve read on this blog before, we’re big fans of ZAP and their Zinfandel Experience. It has become somewhat of a tradition for us to use this annual event as an opportunity to showcase our upcoming releases for the year. However, this year we decided to mix things up and bring along a special treat from our library as well. Alongside the soon-to-be released 2013 zinfandels, we poured our 1997 Jimsomare Zinfandel. This wine was an ATP release back in 1999 and, now with 17 years of age, we felt it would be a great opportunity to spotlight how well zinfandel’s can develop over time.
We’re so happy to see that some of you enjoyed it!

And lastly this great mention from Elizabeth Smith and her blog The Traveling Wine Chick…
“The 1997 Ridge Jimsomare Ranch Zinfandel , Santa Cruz Mountains, was a show stopper. I was amazed at how this wine held up, still with great fruit and acidity”

Very cool to see this wine holding up so well after all of these years. Wish I could have been there. Thanks for sharing.
