Farewell to a Legend, Farewell to a Trentadue

Safe travels to you, Leo Trentadue, on this, your next amazing journey.

You have given to this world the pleasures of the senses, the companionships of the soul, the connections to the land, the contributions to the histories.

For this, and so much more, we are grateful, and  you are missed.

The Ridge name and the Trentadue name have walked hand-in-hand down the vinerows of California’s story for nigh upon six decades, and never will these narratives come untwined.

Paul Draper and yourself, friends for 50+ years, friends forever.

A great viticulturist, you were. An inventor, a thinker, a businessman, a visionary.

But Paul remembers another Leo:

“He was a great cook. Leo in front of a big stove, it was a place he loved to be. The big family rituals with marvelous food and friends and family, it was wonderful.”

This was, is, and always will be, the wine life.

The Trentadue life.

A toast.

To the Trentadue life.
