Oh dear. It was once said that Americans andd Brits are separated by a common language. The simple expression ‘ a pack of three’ refers to those little items we used to have buy in chemists – for the Americans amongst us, drugstores, known as gentlemen’s contraceptives. Rather than call them by such a direct name, we used the euphemism ‘pack of three’. Getting such every day for the whole of the holiday season makes me smile!
