If you’re anywhere near the Sonoma area on the 29th of July (or anywhere in the world if you’ve got a computer, online access, and the ways and means to type http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=135210769843322), then we’ve got a tasting for you! Assuming you like zinfandel. Which I assume you do.
Anyhow, this isn’t just any old tasting, this is in fact a showdown, with Sonoma’s two great valleys squaring off to see who will claim the right to define themselves as the true epicenter of artisan zinfandel production in Northern California. I’m talking of course about Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley, and in order to do proper battle, a great roster of long-time zinfandel producers has been called to the field to duke it out. Here’s the roster:
~ 2008 Ridge Geyserville
~ 2008 Seghesio Home Ranch
~ 2008 Sin Zin – Alexander Valley Vineyards
Dry Creek Valley
~ 2006 Redemption Zin – Alexander Valley Vineyards
~ 2007 Ridge Lytton Springs
~ 2007 Seghesio Cortina Dry Creek Valley
Needless to say, we’re thrilled to be participating in this event, and all battleground analogies aside, this really should prove to be a great tasting, one in which everybody wins. For full specs, just click that link above, and you’ll be on your way!
