The First Official Ridge Vineyards Jimsomare Designation Virtual Vertical!
August 7th, 8th, & 9th
So, the Jimsomare Virtual Vertical is officially ON! With a few modifications … See below for the Problem/Solution Matrix:
Problem: It’s been very difficult to find one day that every interested party can be available for.
Solution: A 3-day Virtual Vertical!
Problem: Lots of folks interested who don’t actually have any Jimsomare.
Solution: We’ll do the Virtual Vertical the same weekend Program Members can pick up the new 2007!
(Hopefully, this will mitigate at least a couple nagging problems. )
Now, here’s the MO; basically, on this weekend in question, which is August 7th, 8th, & 9th, your job is to open and taste a bottle of Jimsomare. Then, you need to write tasting notes. Then, you need to send them to me, via a comment on The Jimsomare Virtual Vertical Post which will go live the morning of the 7th. By the end of the weekend, we should have a great roster of responses, and a great look into the world of Jimsomare!

I really think Melissa is right. Twitter Taste Live is the forum for this. I’ve done 8 or 10 TTL events, and it’s a great way to get a good group of wine tasters on the same page. And if you look at my tweet stream, you’ll see 140 characters just means I type (cont..) a lot

Thanks very much for your comment!
Clearly, you and Melissa both are advocates as well as participants, and as such, I’m certainly more than willing to cede the floor to your collective expertise and perspective as regards Twitter being the appropriate forum for our Jimsomare vertical. That said, and for reasons of my own, I will continue to decline an active engagement with Twitter, at least for the time being. However, assuming, per her previous comment, that Melissa is indeed interested in hosting this virtual tasting on Twitter as opposed to our Ridge blog, than I am more than happy to pass the Jimsomare torch. Let me check in with her, and we’ll see whether a platform switch is indeed in the offing!

Perhaps winewithmark is referring to a newer trend in wine tasting called Twitter Taste Live. It’s a really fun way to hold a virtual tasting with people from all over.
Try as I might, I can’t pursuede Christopher to get a-Twittering. But I am more than willing to host an informal Twitter tasting with anyone interested on the weekend of August 7,8,9. We could use the hashtag #Jimsomare.

Wow, touché Melissa! But you’ve seen my posts, I couldn’t possibly compress down to 140 words! It takes me 140 words just to say hello! I’d need 100 tweets just to get a thought out!

So Monte Bello doesn’t have to be on Twitter? Love to chat some time about arranging a tasting and a possible purchase for my wine club!

Not sure I quite understand your comment about Twitter, but good luck with your tasting!
